Power to See Opportunities

There are unseen opportunities everywhere.  All you need to do is just train your mind to see them, to continually not only look for them, but to see them under things, imbedded in a person’s connections, in ways that a trained and acute mind can seek, learn and grow and create.

Richard Branson once said, “[Business] opportunities are like buses, there’s always another one coming.”

Do yourself a favor, just today, where ever you go, with the people you meet, the books, yes by the way, the powerful books you are reading, the ideas you see from videos, the internet, everywhere you place your attention, watch for those hidden opportunities that you seem to overlook.

They are everywhere.

Yesterday, I was running one of our referral groups, through my company One Business connection that has been around since 1997.  After all these years in business, I have learned to train my mind to see connections others miss.  And the purpose of these meetings, on many levels, is to find opportunities, connections, referrals and personal introductions that will help the members of 1BC grow their companies, get them in front of people who are their target markets.

One brilliant person by the name of Bryan was at this meeting.  He works with mostly multi-million dollar companies.  And as everyone went around, it seemed to me that he did not think or see that anyone in that room of entrepreneurs, small business owners and sales reps, were the right connections for what he did, his company, for him.

So I inquired a little deeper.  I asked:  Why is this roofing sales person a good connection for you?  Minutes before, when Adam, the roofer talked about his company, what good connections would be for him, he also mentioned that the roofing company he worked for had been around since 1993.

There was a clue.  I asked Adam, the roofing person, what are the revenues of that company?  He said over 7 million?  Now Adam may not be the connection for Bryan, but he could refer the owners, the executive decision makers to him.  It is vital to look past people, past just them and see all the way to all the valuable connections they have.

Then there was another woman there, who is a member of a large organization, even though she was more of an independent marketing person for the company.  I asked, “What are the overall revenues for that company?” She said over 400 million annually.  See, there you go another unseen possibility, a connection to get Bryan to the executive team of that nation-wide membership organization.

There was another person who was at the meeting, Bert, who needs to connect up with companies that have many employees.  Again, whether he saw the opportunities or not, there was one for him too.  I asked Adam another question?  “How many employees are in the company you sell roofs for?”  He said 13 inside and 15 in the field.

Again, there was another potential opportunity for the person wanting to get connections into companies with many employees.

So I ask you, in what you do, how much money are you leaving on the table?  How many potential clients are you overlooking, just because you don’t or may not see the opportunities?   Or are you just not thinking creatively enough?  Or have you not trained the mind to delve in, to seek out, to uncover and discover these obvious (and not so obvious) opportunities that are right in front of you, that are waiting for an active and inquiring mind to penetrate, work and create opportunities that are pregnant and filled with potential?

Work the possibilities.  Work the potential.  Work the connections.  Do this and you will grow your world and your dreams.  What is really possible to the mind that is aware, is curious, is willing to open up and let loose all the options that are available?

So if and only if, your mind is open to see, to believe and to follow through on these connections, then they will begin to happen.  Train your referral mind and be courageous enough to pursue, capture and make these possibilities grow into results.

As a person who is willing to grow your own dream, it is your job, a skill set you can develop, to grab hold of opportunities that are not that obvious, but are waiting there for you to pick them off the tree, apples in autumn, ideas in the mind ready and ripe for turning into gold.

Ask yourself this day, maybe every day, before you begin, before the sun is full in the sky, what opportunities are in front of me?  Will I, can I keep scanning the mind, all during the day, asking where are the unseen opportunities?  How might that be an opportunity for me?  Where is the silver lining?  Where is an opportunity for the audacious, courageous and brave mind to grab hold of?

And as you ask questions that will help you uncover the hidden options in your business, in your life, in the dreams you are mulling around in your head, the gold will appear.  You will break ground.  You will amaze your very self of the latent potential, the untapped possibilities that exist everywhere you go.

Make adventures happen.  Create opportunities where there seem none.  Get results with creativity.  Let nothing slow down the inquiring and resolute mind.

This is the nature of creating, designing and executing the remarkable business, and the higher aspiring life.
