Be Alive: Move Mountains

Hey, I know this may sound obvious, but you are alive.  “There is no eternal reward for wasting the dawn.”—Jim Morrison.

Take everything you’ve got, all the enthusiasm, all the belief, all the wisdom and perfection and extrude that into a wry smile, a wonder why, a complete decision to succeed.

Be so filled with the love of life, with the persistence of 1000 days, with the resolve that all things roll out, meet you at the shore, all ideas and truths will become apparent.

Just fill your heart and mind and soul with the decision to live, to be filled with undulating bliss, the possibility of today, without cynicism, without a bit of doubt and your perfect life will unfold, will begin to form on the edges of what is truly inside of you.

What does it mean to be alive? Are you taking moments, people, opportunities, your own potential, what is possible in your life, for granted?  Isn’t really about a search for meaning and purpose, a dance between what is and what can be, a head-full of theories and a grab-bag full of real truths that blend into one, not subdivided ideas that hold little water and weight?

And isn’t really about your philosophy, what drives you, picks you up and takes you from the breakfast table into the inner world of who you are?

You are alive, and you can do with this life, your life, what you want.  But wouldn’t it be a good idea to leave an impression, a footprint in time that you were here, that you are having, and had, an impact, that you existed?

So why not write a book, leave some recordings, leave a business that survives you, leave traces and elements of style, a lifestyle, stories, glory days and momentous occasions that you did celebrate, often, your chance to dance with eternity, that you did move mountains in your brief “spectrum of consciousness” that was given to you to do with as you wish.

Be alive by striving for greatness, for uncovering and expressing your own brilliance, for having fun in the face of danger, of being courageous when it would be easy to hide in the shadows.  “Courage is grace under pressure.”

Accept that there are problems and challenges and issues and dilemmas and struggles, and be gracious and calm under pressure.  Be the leader of the light, the captain of your soul, the marauder who only gives up when you are dead, who “fights, fights against the dying of the light,” who knows who the hell Dylan Thomas was, who is willing to give it another swing, a stab into the dark and come out with a full moon, a full deck, a better answer in this expanse of infinity.

You are alive, vitally alive, so find your way into and stay in states of sheer enlightenment, peaks states of performance and focal-point existence.

Find a purpose, your purpose that drives you, enlivens you, leaves a residual of wonder and peace and contentment and resolve and initiative along the fruited plains, as you take the dawn and invent the day, and shoot arrows and vectors of light through the night.

Be full and filled with a desire to help, to give, to admire, to congratulate, to change perceptions, to hammer out a new plan, to go the extra mile, to perfect your own lifestyle of living, and do and be and have it all, and smile all the while like the Cheshire cat shaking hands with Lewis.

Be alive by doing what you want to do: That may be to climb a mountain, to help a community, to see farther than others, and have the vision of a burning sun, the passion of a human with purpose and meaning as tools, the fuel that ignites your dream, that takes a wish and a want and brings it into the physical world.

Be vitally alive today, and never give up, and never let a discouraging thought linger in your sacred mind, and never listen to lesser minds and myopic people who are lost and get a perverse pleasure explaining and complaining and criticizing those who are willing to meet their dreams, to take more risks, to go for greatness, who are the leaders and the light in a world that can have its darkness.

Be your own light, the vision, your own best friend, and take time to clarify, to identify, what you are extremely passionate about, and go about with vigor and valor to accomplish what your purpose is, that destination of destiny that is burning in your heart.

Be so alive today that it eclipses the days that have gone before you, the past that is a relic lost in the mist, the fog of listlessness, of living to get by, to get through, to make it to the end of the your days.

But never again, for you are alive to thrive and enjoy every second of your existence and breathe more life, and more inspiration and more exhilaration to those who fall short, sell themselves short, who need a torch to light their dreams again.

Be the power, the self-efficacy, the undulating elation that you and all of us were born with…but some have lost along the way.  Then you will fulfill your purpose, you will live in states of wonder, and you will move mountains.
