It is easy to stay in habits of doing and being, by making things a priority that should not be like sports on TV, video games, anything that is participating in someone else’s dream, where you are caught up in the frenzy, the subculture, the walking down the wrong path, putting energy into things that are not getting you to your dream, your desires, your pole vaulting over the barriers, the fences, the walls, the stutter-stepping ineffective ways of going about creating success in your life, in the life you desire and aspire for.
When you are clear and focused about what you want, where you are going, what are your real, absolute priorities, it gets you out of habits of wasting time, of treading water, of listlessly meandering and drifting, then you are a focal point, a burning ember, a straight arrow shot at the target hitting the mark that is your highest aspiration.
According to ancient Greek history, a traveler was on his way to Athens, and he met a man on the path, and asked the man, (who turned out to be Socrates), “Can you tell me the shortest way to Athens?” And Socrates pointed, “Just make sure every step you take is in that direction.”
Is every step you take in the direction of a burning desire, a destination, your Athens, your place to arrive?
Make sure to keep true to your efforts so you do not drift off your path, you do not go down cul de sacs and detours and places that do not parallel your dreams.
By being clear, knowing exactly where you want to go, this will obliterate facades in your head, comfort zones that no longer serve you, wasted time that you take so easily for granted as you watch three hours of football…for what reason?
Get more focused. Let clarity of purpose be your guiding light. Let what you want find you, come toward you.
And it is a universal principle that as you keep pushing in a single direction, as you keep focused on a goal, as you put massive effort and energy into a decided direction, a worthy ideal then you begin (very shortly) to see movement, progress: Magical things happen.
Because what you want, wants you. The goal you are so passionate about going toward, begins coming toward you. Your dreams are attracted to your clear and controlled thoughts; for your thoughts attract like thoughts, like energy, like situations and opportunities by the shear realization of the universal law of attraction.
Lethargy attracts more lethargy. Complacency attracts more of the same. Focused and passionate goals attract those goals and dreams into your life in ways you (very often) cannot even yet conceive.
Be ever so careful where you place your emphasis of your mind. And be careful of the thoughts you let roam around in your head.
For as you are so very careful of the time and energy you put toward a dream, and as you believe with your whole heart and whole being that your definiteness of purpose is real and coming toward you, then you break barriers. You achieve more quickly and you get what you desire.
Priorities that are important to you, focused goals and dreams, and activity in those directions, will give you permission to be great, to achieve greatness and have an impact on this life you are living with resolve, passion, purpose and pursuit.
